Day 9 of No Shop February. One big victory this week was going to the mall to return jeans to Madewell and WALKING OUT WITH NOTHING. But the biggest was walking into Target to get a few things that I needed and walking out with ONLY THE 4 THINGS I NEEDED. I am ready for my super hero cape and humanitarian award now..
Anywho, I got a good giggle Wednesday night when I came back from a meeting at the Zoo and realized I was wearing my latest purchase (from January!) of my go-to most favorite brands. Literally, head to feet (not boots. They are older!): Warby Parker glasses, Stella & Dot earrings, Everlane cashmere crop v-neck sweater, ThirdLove bra, and Madewell jeans. What can I say? When I find something I love, I tend to buy it in various colors and variations.
Everlane. What can I say - this line of simple, quality classics has become my go-to for sweaters. I first purchased in ivory, then ruby, then black, then got soft pink for Christmas, and just got the charcoal in late January. Pro tip: order a size down if you don't want the wider v-neck. Its a bit shorter, so you have to have a short torso (like me!) or be comfortable with higher waisted pants if you don't want stomach to show! The first 4 (I admit, I have a problem) I have are all my usual size medium, but this newest charcoal addition is a small and I kind of love the slightly more fitted look!
If you had told me even a year ago I would be this addicted to higher-waisted denim I would have laughed in your face. I took a ton of jeans to consignment because ALL I WEAR is higher waisted and about 90% is from Madewell. In early January I ordered 4 pairs (part of the bender that led to no-shop February.. ) of the new spring styles from Madewell. I've posted several times about their 10 in rise denim and their RoadTripper (Only $75!) that I live in. I got the pair in the picture - the Tulip-Hem Edition and LOVE THEM. I also love the Drop-Hem Edition. I tried the new Curvy High-Rise Skinny, but perhaps due to my lack of actual curves I did not like them as much. I am not a "take a picture of my booty" type of girl, but all of my Madewell jeans make me want to be. The pocket placement is SPOT ON - it makes all butts look like BOOTIES.
I don't like to remember I am wearing a bra, so ThirdLove is my ta-ta tamer of choice. I posted a LONG time ago about my love of their strapless bra, but I truly love everything I have of theirs. With this link, you get $15 off your first order!
Warby Parker glasses have been my GO TO since I very first found them. I haven't bought a pair from my eye doctor (sorry...) since. I love that when my prescription changes I can contact them and they can change the lenses for $50. The last time I had my lenses changed at my eye doctor it was much more than that. My newest pair is the Barnett in Quail Egg Gray.
That is all from me - I'm still reading Hamilton. Oh and listening to Man of the Woods on repeat, because some of us never grow past our first crushes. This week featured my tried-and-true all the time favorites!
