Day 2 of no shop February. As silly as it is, this is one of my favorites for today. I was very proud of myself for returning $250 worth of impulse buys yesterday without picking up anything else and justifying, "If its an exchange, it isn't really shopping." I also got a lot of great support and some good advice! My friend Jess did no shop January and had such a good experience that she's continuing it into February! She advised that she doesn't count travel as shopping and that if something breaks she can replace it and not count it as shopping.
I also would like to share a picture of one of my most favorite things in the world: baby horses! This morning our mare Brandy's Secret gave birth to this sweet angel of a filly:
As much as I love puppies, I am not sure there is anything more adorable than a baby horse. They are so gangly and fuzzy and I just want to hug them. If this sweet girl doesn't make you smile, check that you are dead inside. ;)
I am currently reading Hamilton by Ron Chernow. Yes, the one the musical is based on. I am late to the game, but really loving it. Who wouldn't, right?
I know I have repeatedly touted it as a favorite, but I cannot get over how much I use my Instant Pot. The ability to make salmon from frozen that is actually tasty has rocked my world. With the cold and snow that is supposed to be hitting us here in Louisville, I would be remiss to not include the LL Bean Snow Boots that have changed my winter game. I have been using the BeautyCounter Baby Daily Protective Balm for my hands and lips like CRAZY! My favorite WinterBrush leggings from Gap are on sale big time right now, so if you are shopping now would be a good time to snap them up!
If you are in the Louisville area, I highly recommend the classes some girlfriends and I have signed up for recently at Westport Whiskey & Wine. We had so much fun back in December at the champagne tasting and we just did an Intro to Wine Tasting class that was fab!
Also for those in the Louisville area, two super cute opportunities that help the Kentucky Humane Society are coming up! If you want to have your own mini Puppy Bowl before the official Puppy Bowl (and whatever other big games may be on tv this Sunday.. ;), Copper and Kings is hosting a Puppy Bowl Watch Party that benefits KHS! You can't bring your own dogs, but you can come and get some puppy love!
Finally, if you are wanting to get that someone special a memorable Valentine, send them a puppy or kitty gram! For a $150 donation to KHS, your loved one will get a floral surprise from Oberer's, sweets from Cellar Door Chocolates, and a puppy or kitten snuggle!
