Back in Fall 2012, I was a relatively new boutique owner and a tiny, energetic lady walked into my store. She introduced herself as Stephanie and told me about the barre studio she would be opening across the parking lot from my boutique, B.You Fitness. Let me tell you about Stephanie - when she tells you to do something, you just do it. She exudes confidence and authority. Despite barely knowing what Barre meant, I readily agreed that yes! I would be there at the opening to help support her.
Fast forward, Steph became a good friend and as starting out business owners we spent several early evenings hiding in my boutique drinking wine. The studio she created now has 3 locations and an army of dedicated followers that affectionately call her Drill Sergeant!
I played a ton of sports growing up and slacked off considerably during college and the "lost years" right after graduation. I've always been adverse to running unless its for a purpose (like after a ball) so I was never a runner chick. At 25, I discovered weight lifting and starting working out with a trainer 2 times a week.
Now, B.you and Barre has become an integral part of my life. I schedule my classes ahead of time and try to arrange my work around them! B.You has so many types of classes now, but my favorites are regular Barre and Bounce (another post on Bounce.. it needs its own explanation and what to wear!). I credit a lot of the change in my body to Barre - 30 hit me HARD. The small movements practiced in barre make me shake!
The barre community is also a big part of why I keep coming back. AND THE CUTE CLOTHES!! Amy was sweet enough to take some pics of me in some of my favorite barre clothes, and I've linked to them below!
